On the 27th June 2022 the Care Quality Commission conducted an inspection of Heyfields Nursing Home. This is a regular process with us being last inspected in June 2019.
The CQC inspectors are assessing our service on three main criteria : – Is the service safe?, Is the service caring? and Is the service well led?.
We are very pleased that the CQC report has now been received and on each of the three questions we were assessed as Good with an Overall rating also of Good.
What the CQC Inspectors Said.
About Is The Service Safe? Rated Good
People were supported to have maximum choice and control of their lives and staff supported them in the least restrictive way possible and in their best interests; the policies and systems in the service supported this practice. People were safeguarded from the risk of harm, and risks were assessed and managed in a safe way. There were enough staff to meet people’s needs.
About Is The Service Caring? Rated Good
The home was clean and there were measures in place to reduce infection prevention control risks. People told us they felt very well cared for and we observed caring interactions between people and staff. People had their dignity and privacy respected and were encouraged to be as independent as possible. People were consulted about their care.
About Is The Service Well Led? Rated Good
There were governance systems in place to assess and monitor the quality and safety of the service. The registered manager was visible and approachable and was passionate about ensuring people received safe and effective care. Staff felt valued and listened to; people and their relatives also confirmed they were engaged with service and consulted for feedback about the care at the home.
Suffice we are incredibly pleased and proud of all our staff who work so hard to care for the most vulnerable and to ensure they are cared for and our kept safe in our home. You can download a copy of the Care Quality Report from here.
